C. McFerrin Smith III
C. McFerrin Smith, III is a former judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed to this position in 1981.[1] He retired on November 3, 2015.[2]
Education
Smith was born in DeLand, Fla., on November 4, 1945. He received his undergraduate degree from Sewanee: The University of the South in 1967 and his J.D. from the University of Florida School of Law in 1970. He later taught at the Stetson University College of Law.[1][3]
Career
Smith worked as a judicial aide for the Florida Supreme Court, an executive director of the Florida Law Revision Council, an assistant state attorney and a private practice lawyer prior to becoming a judge. He was appointed to the Volusia County Court in 1978 and to the Circuit court in 1981.[1][3]
2012 election

McFerrin was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the primary election on August 14, 2012.[4]
