Carlson v. Pima County was a case before Arizona Supreme Court in 1984 concerning the release of prison "offense reports" and the personal records of inmates.
Important precedents
- The court ruled in favor of the inmate and in so doing, eliminated the distinction between public records and "other matters," in favor of a comparison of the interests of privacy and the policy of openness with regard to whether records should be released[1].
