Four of the seven seats on the Eagle Pass Independent School District school board were up for general election on November 8, 2016. The Position 1 incumbent chose not to file for re-election. Jorge Barrera defeated Juan Jose Olivares, Ronnie Rivera, and Ricardo Lopez vied for the open seat. In the race for Position 2, incumbent Ignacio Saucedo lost to challenger Christopher Hiller. Candidate Carmen Ravenna was defeated by incumbent Hector Alvarez for the Position 6 seat. Position 7 incumbent Glenna Purcell won re-election against Carmen Shmerber Garcia.[1]
