Chip Flanegan
Chip Flanegan was a 2016 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 3rd Congressional District of Georgia.[1] Flanegan was defeated in the Republican primary on May 24, 2016.[2]

He was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 3rd Congressional District of Georgia. Flanegan was defeated by incumbent Lynn A. Westmoreland in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012.[5]

Flanegan has been the owner of Jonesboro Rental Center since June 1980.[6]

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Republican. Incumbent Lynn Westmoreland (R) did not seek re-election in 2016. Drew Ferguson (R) defeated Angela Pendley (D) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Ferguson defeated Mike Crane in the primary runoff election on July 26, 2016. Prior to that, Ferguson and Crane defeated Jim Pace, Richard Mix, Arnall Thomas, Chip Flanegan, and Samuel Anders to advance to the runoff election, while Angela Pendley defeated Tamarkus Cook in the Democratic primary. The primary elections took place on May 24, 2016.[7][2][8]

Flanegan ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Georgia's 3rd District. Flanegan sought the nomination on the Republican ticket.[9] Candidates wishing to run were required to file by the signature filing deadline of May 25, 2012. The primary elections were held on July 31, 2012. Flanegan was defeated by incumbent Lynn A. Westmoreland in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012.[5]
