Chris Brummer is a former member of the National Adjudicatory Council of FINRA. He was nominated twice by President Barack Obama (D) to serve on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. As of November 2020, Brummer was a professor at Georgetown Law.[1]
Biography
Brummer received his J.D. from Columbia Law School and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Before entering academia, Brummer worked at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. Brummer's legal expertise is in fintech, financial regulation, and global governance.[2][1]
He served on the National Adjudicatory Council of FINRA for three years. He was nominated by President Barack Obama to serve on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in 2016 and 2017.[1]
Brummer wrote and edited several books on financial regulation, including Soft Law and the Global Financial System, Minilateralism, Cryptoassets: Legal, Regulatory, and Monetary Perspectives, and Fintech Law in a Nutshell.[2]
