I have lived in and around District D, specifically Englewood, for nearly a decade. Commuting downtown often for work, and for a period not owning a car, I have been a frequent rider on RTD (lines D, A, E and bus 0, 15) and in that time I have observed a concerning decline in both service quality and customer experience. Given my skill set, professional background, community connections, and passion for transportation, I feel compelled to step in and help restore RTD to its former glory. I currently serve on three different boards & commissions in Englewood and recently completed the Elevate Englewood city leadership academy. As an IT leader for a Denver-based healthcare company, I bring 15 years of consulting experience focused on optimizing operations for Fortune 500 companies, including a multi-year engagement with Amtrak that provided me with invaluable hands-on experience in the transportation and rail industry. Having lived in cities like Chicago, Atlanta, and New York City, I’ve seen both exceptional and inadequate public transportation systems, and I understand their profound impact on local communities. My goal is to make RTD an asset and a source of pride for District D and its surrounding areas.
  • We must increase ridership at RTD. Ridership numbers have not come remotely close to matching pre-pandemic days even with a significant population increase in the area over the past few years. Traffic has, and will continue to get more congested and with that worsening carbon emissions. Increasing ridership will greatly help reduce traffic and carbon emissions as well as maximize the public and taxpayer's return on investment with RTD. Increasing ridership should be a key guiding principle in all RTD decisions and strategies.
  • Improved service and customer experience -- RTD has been focused first on growth for the past 15+ years as they have been in expansion mode, but ridership cannot increase without a commitment to better service and an elevated customer experience. It’s essential to maintain and regularly audit tracks, vehicles, and trains to prevent unexpected failures and disrepair. Installing security cameras on buses, along with advanced video technology, will facilitate better monitoring and quicker response times. Additionally, aligning RTD leaders' bonuses with operational performance could serve as a strong incentive for improvement. These strategies are just a few ways RTD can elevate its service and customer experience.
  • As a public agency funded by taxpayers—receiving 75% of its budget from them—RTD has a fundamental obligation to prioritize transparency and accountability. To fulfill this commitment, RTD provide operational data, dashboards, and reports to the public, making them accessible to the public in near real-time. When schedule changes, track closures, incidents, or accidents occur, RTD must promptly inform the public, clearly explaining the circumstances and outlining the steps being taken to address the issues. By fostering transparency and open communication, RTD can empower the public to hold the agency accountable for its performance.
Ensuring all socioeconomic classes, people of all races and religions, and all neighborhoods have equitable public transportation enabling them to get to where they need to go within a reasonable amount of time and a fair price.
I am a big proponent of the Clean Air Act, it is imperative we take care of our planet and leave it better off than we found it for the next generation. More people on public transportation and fewer cars on the roads is my short-term goal for RTD to improve carbon emissions while my longer-term goal is to transform RTD’s fleet to be more economically and environmentally friendly.
Integrity - doing the right thing and having strong moral principles.

Stewardship - serving the needs of others first and foremost.
Listener - listen and understand both what is said and unsaid.

Persuasion - officials should be able to persuade and convince others instead of relying on their position or coercing
I was a sports camp counselor in high-school for kids ranging ages 5-7. I had that job for 2 months each summer in high-school. It was a great job, I think I had more fun than the kids did running around getting to teach and witnessing their interactions and friendships and memories made each summer. While I did try to coach and teach my main goal was to make it as much fun for the kids as I could and to make them as tired as possible every day.
