Colorado Court of Appeals rules against newspaper
March 22, 2010
Colorado: The Colorado Court of Appeals has issued a ruling against local newspaper, The Fort Morgan Times, saying that they cannot have access to records pertaining to a performance review of a former city manager. The newspaper sought access to the evaluation forms used by member of the city council in the review. When the newspaper sought the records in 2007 the city declared them "work product" and where, therefore, exempt from public record laws.[1]
