Colorado court gets its first female Chief Judge

Pueblo County, Colorado: Chief Justice Michael Bender, of the Colorado Supreme Court, appointed Judge Deborah Eyler on April 4, 2012 to head the state's 10th Judicial District. The court, which is located in Pueblo County, has yet to have a female Chief Judge. That will change on June 1, when Eyler takes office. She will replace retiring Judge Dennis Maes.
Judge Larry Schwartz was also appointed to a new position. He will take charge of the district's water court. Chief Justice Bender stated, "In the few years that Judges Eyler and Schwartz have been on the bench, they have shown great commitment to serving the people of Pueblo County...I look forward to seeing them thrive in these new roles."[1]
