Connecticut: The Connecticut Supreme Court has issued a ruling in favor of a lawsuit brought by the Connecticut Coalition for Justice in Education Funding saying that the children of poorer towns in the state are not receiving adequate education. The court sided with the Coalition saying that the state's constitution promises an "education that prepares students for a job or higher education," and it found that some state schools were not providing this. The lawsuit was brought after the Coalition effectively demonstrated that achievement gaps between richer and poorer school districts proved that some student were not being adequately educated. This decision could mean wide changes in the state's school funding system.[1]
