Craig Roberts is chief of staff for U.S. Representative John Shimkus (R) who represents Illinois' 15th Congressional District. Roberts has been chief of staff to Rep. Shimkus since 1997. From 1990 to 1997, Roberts was an assistant to George Ryan (R) when Ryan was Lieutenant Governor of Illinois and again when Ryan was Illinois Secretary of State.[1] Roberts was named a Stennis Center Fellow during the 109th United States Congress.[2]
Career
Roberts was program director for the Illinois House Republican Organization from 1996-1990. From June to December 1990, Roberts was as an assistant to then-Lt. Gov. George Ryan (R), then stayed as an assistant to Ryan after Ryan's victory over Jerry Cosention in the 1990 Illinois Secretary of State election.[1][3] Roberts was hired as chief of staff to U.S. Rep. John Shimkus (R) after Shimkus won the 1996 Congressional election over Illinois State Representative Jay Hoffman (D).[4]
Stennis Center Fellowship
Roberts was named a Stennis Center fellow for the 109th United States Congress. According to the Center's website:[2]
