DUI judge charged with DUI
April 8, 2011
BUTTE, Montana: Justice of the Peace Robert E. Lee has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs. [1]
On April 7, 2011 an assistant attorney general filed the misdemeanor DUI charge against Lee. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of methadone. The presence of methadone was confirmed by a blood test. Lee has said he is confident that he will be vindicated and will be allowed to remain on the bench, since the charge is a misdemeanor.[1]
Judge Lee was previously a Butte police officer. He was recently appointed to oversee a new DUI court and also serves as a justice of the peace for the Butte Justice Court in the 2nd District.[1][2] He was recently elected after defeating Don W. Davis in the November election.[3]
