Dale Atkinson is a probate judge for Sumter County, South Carolina.[1] Atkinson was elected to this position in November 2002 and assumed office on January 1, 2003.[2] He was re-elected on November 4, 2014, for a term that expires in 2018.[3]

Education

Atkinson received his undergraduate degree in criminal justice from St. Leo University and his master's degree in public administration from Troy State University.[2]

Career

Atkinson worked as an officer for the Sumter Police Department for twenty-seven years. He retired from police service in 2002. He was elected to the position of probate judge of Sumter County in November 2002. He has served in that position since.[2]
