Dan Fairly
Daniel H. Fairly was a judge for the 20th Chancery District of Mississippi.[1] He was elected to the position in 2006 and took office the following January.[2][3] He was re-elected in 2010 and 2014.[4][5]
Fairly was found dead near Mississippi Highway 43 on April 3, 2015. After an investigation and autopsy, his death was determined to be a suicide caused by a self-inflicted gun shot wound. Fairly had recently taken medical leave from January 20 to March 31. His death came as a shock to members of the community.[6][7][8]
Education
Fairly earned a B.A. from Belhaven College, going on to receive his J.D. from the University of Mississippi. He was admitted to the bar in 1981.[9]
Career
Prior to his election in 2006, Fairly served as a municipal judge pro tempore for the city of Flowood.[2]
