Brenner provided the following description of his political philosophy to Ballotpedia:
“ | I want to bring greater communication, collaboration and transparency to Cincinnati Public Schools. There is currently a lack of inclusion of all viewpoints today with our board and decisions are often communicated to the public after they have been made. I am the parent of 4 current students in Cincinnati Public Schools and want to ensure that all of the district's children have a chance for an excellent education.[6] | ” |

He added:
“ | I am the only current candidate with experience with children in the district and that will continue to have children in the district for the foreseeable future.[6] | ” |
