Marcia A. Futel
Marcia A. Futel is running for election for an at-large seat of the Cincinnati Board of Education in Ohio. Futel is on the ballot in the general election on November 4, 2025.[source]
Biography
Futel earned a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a co-owner of Chuck Futel and Associates and has provided financial services with the company since 2005. At the time of her candidacy, Futel was on the Board of Directors for Parents for Public Schools of Greater Cincinnati.She and her husband, Chuck, have three kids who have graduated from district schools.[1][2]

2017
Four of seven seats on the Cincinnati Public Schools Board of Education in Ohio were up for at-large general election on November 7, 2017. Three incumbents sought re-election. Incumbents Melanie Bates and Ericka Copeland-Dansby and newcomers Ryan Messer and Mike Moroski defeated incumbent Daniel Minera, former candidate Marcia A. Futel, and newcomers Jacqueline Amos, David Brenner, Gary Favors, Christine Fisher, Renee Hevia, Kareem Moffett, and Kathy Young.[3][4]

Funding
Futel reported $100 in contributions but no expenditures to the Ohio Secretary of State, which left her campaign with $100 on hand.[6]
Endorsements
On October 14, 2013, The Cincinnati Enquirer endorsed Futel for one of four seats on the board.[7]

On her campaign's Facebook page, Futel noted that she is a "dedicated champion of academic achievement for all students, advocate for parent involvement at all levels, and principle-centered teacher and leader to individuals and in the organizations I serve."[2]
