David Earl Phillips is an at-large judge of the South Carolina Family Courts.[1] He was elected to the court by the South Carolina General Assembly and assumed office in July 2013.[2][3]

Education

Phillips received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Clemson University in 1994 and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1997.[4]

Career

Phillips began his legal career practicing law with the firm of Chapman & Byrholdt in Anderson, South Carolina. During this time, he also served as a juvenile public defender for Anderson County. In 2004, he started his own solo practice and also worked part-time as a juvenile prosecutor for the Tenth Circuit Solicitor's Office. From 2011 until his election to the court in 2013, Phillips served as an assistant solicitor for the Tenth Circuit Solicitor's Office.[2]
