David Earl Phillips is an at-large judge of the South Carolina Family Courts. He was elected to the court by the South Carolina General Assembly and assumed office in July 2013.

Education

Phillips received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Clemson University in 1994 and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1997.

Career

Phillips began his legal career practicing law with the firm of Chapman & Byrholdt in Anderson, South Carolina. During this time, he also served as a juvenile public defender for Anderson County. In 2004, he started his own solo practice and also worked part-time as a juvenile prosecutor for the Tenth Circuit Solicitor's Office. From 2011 until his election to the court in 2013, Phillips served as an assistant solicitor for the Tenth Circuit Solicitor's Office.
