David W. Evans (Texas Court of Appeals)
David Evans (Republican Party) was a judge for Place 3 of the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals. He assumed office on November 1, 2019. He left office on December 31, 2020.
Evans (Republican Party) ran for re-election for the Place 3 judge of the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals. He lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Education
Evans received his B.A. (philosophy and Greek) from the University of Connecticut in 1977 and his J.D. from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1984. He also attended Dallas Theological Seminary for Hebrew and Greek studies from 1977 to 1981.[1]

2012
Evans ran for the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals and won 31.92 percent of the vote in the Republican primary. Since no candidate received more than 50%, he and Bill Whitehill competed in a runoff on July 31, 2012.[2] Evans won in the runoff, receiving 51.38 percent of the vote.[3]
Evans defeated judicial candidate Dan Wood in the general election on November 6, 2012, with 52.7 percent of the vote.[4][5][6]
