Funding
Daniels opted for mini reporting in this election, according to the Washington Public Disclosure Commission.[4] Candidates who opted for this had to keep a record of their contributors and expenditures, but were not required to report them. If they raised and spent more than $5,000 in aggregate or received more than $500 from any one contributor, including themselves, they would have had to switch their filing status from mini to full reporting.[5]
Endorsements
Daniels received an official endorsement from the Washington Education Association.[6]

Ballotpedia submission
Daniels submitted the below statement to Ballotpedia in response to the question: "What is your political philosophy?"
“ | As a parent, I learned very early that in order for my children to be successful in their educational journey, I had to become an active participant. I went from volunteering in the schools, to PTA president, Paraeducator, Behavior Interventionist, Family Support Worker, to my current position as an Administrator. I know personally and professionally the challenges that face our students and families, as well as the school district. Our teachers and staff do their best every day, with limited support and resources to address the needs and unique challenges that many of our students bring. I work closely with parents to provide support and education, as well as seeking and providing professional development and resources for teachers and staff, and have been a part of great outcomes! I want to bring some of that same success and experience to Kent, not only for my own children, but for all of our children! It is imperative that we fight for adequate funding and resources, while making sure that we are putting our best efforts in the right direction, for each of our students![7] | ” |

Campaign website statement
Daniels stated the following on her campaign website:[8]
“ | I believe in the power of transformational moments; the opportunity through an interaction that can effect lasting change in someone or something. As educators, we have the opportunity to create this type of influence in the lives of our students and families. We have dedicated teachers, principals, and support staff that strive to do the best they can each day for our children, even though they don’t always have access to the resources and professional development they need. It is no small task to educate students whose needs go far beyond what is taught in the classroom without providing adequate support. Educational funding can no longer be an option, and the proper use and distribution of that funding is critical.
I began my personal career in education as a parent and active member of many parent and community organizations. My husband, Mike, and I are the proud parents of seven children. Education has always been at the top of our priority list for our children. Understanding the system of education, building relationships with teachers, and knowing how to support and advocate for my children were all key components in their academic success. As an administrator in the Auburn School District, I support students inside and outside of the school building, work directly with parents and families, provide professional development and support to teachers and staff, and collaborate with other districts, city, and community organizations to provide regional education and change across the state. As a community member, mentor, volunteer, coach, and parent in the Kent community and school district, I will work to do the same and more for our students. I have the ability, experience, knowledge, influence, and passion to create change for our students and families. All I need is your vote! Every Student! Every Opportunity! Every Day![7] |
