Detroit City Charter Amendments, 3 (November 2011)
Three Detroit City Charter Amendment measures were on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the city of Detroit which is in Marion County.
Two of the three measures were approved
The first measure sought to amend the charter so as to make it that anyone running for an elected office must be a full time resident in the city.
The second measure sought to amend the city charter so as to make it that only elected council members could be appointed as Mayor.
The third measure sought to amend the charter so as to make it that a Mayor appointee would have to be a councilor for 18 months prior.[1]
