Diane Davis is a bankruptcy judge for the United States bankruptcy court, Northern District of New York. She was sworn in on March 6, 2009 and retired on March 5, 2023.[1][2]

Education

Judge Davis received her B.A. in economics and German from St. Lawrence University in 1976 and her J.D. from Albany Law School in 1991.[1][3]

Career

From 1995 until her appointment to the bench, Davis served as Counsel to the Chapter 13 Standing Trustee in Albany, New York. Prior to joining the Trustee’s office, she clerked for Magistrate Judge Ralph W. Smith, Jr., served as Counsel to the Civil Justice Reform Commission for the Northern District of New York, and was the Assistant Director of Career Planning at Albany Law School. Before law school, Judge Davis lived and worked in Rochester, New York and overseas, residing primarily in Nürnburg, Germany.[1]
