Ed Self
Ed Self was the judge of the 242nd District Court in Texas.[1] He was appointed to the court by Governor George W. Bush in 1998. He did not seek re-election in 2014 and retired on December 31, 2014.[2][3]
Education
Self received his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and his J.D. from the University of Texas Law School.[3]
Education
Prior to his judicial appointment, Self worked in private practice.[3]
Military service
Self served in the U.S. Army for almost four years. He worked with the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps.[3]
Elections
2010
Self won the Republican primary and was re-elected after running unopposed in the general election.[4]
