Elizabeth Lindsley

Elizabeth Lindsley is a Utah Third Judicial District judge for the Third District Juvenile Court.[1] Lindsley was appointed to this position in September 2002 and her term expires in 2018.[2]
Education
Lindsley received her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh College of Law in 1990.[2]
Career
From 1990 to 1991, she was a law clerk for the Salt Lake County District Attorney's office. She then worked as a deputy count/district attorney, prosecuting juvenile delinquency and abuse/neglect cases in the Third District Juvenile Court. Lindsley was appointed to the Third District Juvenile Court by Governor Michael O. Leavitt in September of 2002. She has served in that position since.[2]

2012
Lindsley stood for retention election in 2012. On November 6, 2012, Lindsley was retained with 79.0 percent of the vote and a total of 274,605 votes.[3][4]

Judicial Performance Evaluation recommendation
The Utah Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission compiled information from attorneys, court staff and jurors about the performance of all judges up for retention in 2012. Judges were evaluated based on five criteria.
A judge must score at least 3 out of 5 in each of these categories to meet the minimum performance standard. 45 attorneys responded to the following questions.
- Legal Ability: 4.13
- Communication: 4.39
- Integrity: 4.27
- Judicial temperament: 4.16
- Administrative: 4.23
