Faisal Suleiman is married with four children. He has been in the social and community services for many years. He was a coordinator for the education department of Somali Development Center (SDC) in Boston, Massachusetts.

He worked as refugee resettlement case manager at Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota. Faisal worked as an election judge in multiple elections and is currently a certified election judge.

In early 2000s, Faisal volunteered at U.S Refugee Resettlement Program/Joint Volunatry Agency(JVA) in Nairobi,Kenya. He volunteered in tax preparation for the low-income families and individuals at Prepare and Prosper Agency in Minnesota. He graduated with Summa Cum Laude from Minnesota State University -Moorhead, double majored in political science and international studies, emphasis (Diplomacy). Faisal was the outstanding student of the year in the political science and economics department. He is a member of National Political Science Honor Society. Faisal received a certificate of completion from Harvard University Medical School.

Faisal also studied journalism and public relations, and published articles in international newspapers such as Kenya Times.
  • Lowering property tax to relieve the financial burden on Savage residents while raising revenue of the city by other alternative means of revenue generations.
  • Support Local Businesses: We are committed to supporting local businesses in any way possible including opening a business office within city government or creating business commission that acts as laison between the policymakers and locally -owned businesses.
  • Economic growth by partning with colleges and universities to produce a skilled workforce who can meet the demands of the local employers.
Finding housing solutions to residents,infrastructure development/redevelopments,economic growth,public safety and support local businesses.
Law making/ legislation, pass budget,policy making,hire and remove employees and commossion members of the city and good governance, fiscal financial resposibility and community enagement by listerning to the concerns of the residents and translating their positive visions into policy.
I have been in community and social service for many years and I'm now more than ever committed to serving the community to make difference in residents life through an equitable policy making and legislation that reflects the whole community.
