Ballot title

The ballot title for Amendment 4 was as follows:

FOR ratification of Amendment to Paragraph 2, of Section 6, of Article 7, of the Constitution of 1877 and however and whenever said section may appear in revisions of said Constitution, authorizing the Legislature to enact laws authorizing the County of Bibb to create a retirement fund and system of retirement pay for County employees of said county.

AGAINST ratification of Amendment to Paragraph 2, of Section 6, of Article 7, of the Constitution of 1877 and however and whenever said section may appear in revisions of said Constitution, authorizing the Legislature to enact laws authorizing the County of Bibb to create a retirement fund and system of retirement pay for County employees of said county.

A two-thirds (66.67%) vote is required during one legislative session for the Georgia State Legislature to place an amendment on the ballot. That amounts to a minimum of 120 votes in the Georgia House of Representatives and 38 votes in the Georgia State Senate, assuming no vacancies.
