Woodard ran in the 2010 election for Vermont State Senate Bennington District. Woodard was defeated by Democratic incumbents Richard Sears and Robert Hartwell in the general election on November 2, 2010. Woodard and Patricia Blair were unopposed in the Republican primary election on August 24, 2010.[2][3]
