Gering City Sales Tax Renewal (May 2010)

There was a Gering City Sales Tax Renewal on the May 11 ballot in Scotts Bluff County for voters in the city of Gering.

This measure was approved

  • YES 1,230 (81%)Approveda
  • NO 275 (18%)[1]

This measure asked voters to approve the renewal of a one percent sales tax that was in place but was set to expire at the end of 2010. Approval of the measure kept the tax in place for an additional six years. The tax revenue was used for property tax relief, downtown development, and the tourism industry.[2]
