Gilbert Smith, Jr. is a judge of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Court in Manatee County, Florida. He was elected on August 26, 2008, and took office the following January.[1][2][3] Smith was re-elected in 2014, winning a six-year term that expires on January 4, 2021.[4][5]

Education

Smith was born in Abbeville, S.C. on August 2, 1951. He received his B.A. degree from the University of South Florida in 1974 and his J.D. degree from the University of the Pacific in 1986.[2]

Career

Smith has practiced with the law firms of Hamrick, Perrey, Quinlan & Smith, P.A. and Holland & Knight. He was then elected to the circuit court in 2008.[6]
