Colorado: On July 1, 2012 Suzanne Carlson was appointed by Governor Hickenlooper to become the Colorado 6th Judicial District's newest judge.[1] The position was created by House Bill 12-1073 which was introduced by Rep. J. Paul Brown and Sen. Ellen Roberts. The bill takes away one judgeship from the 1st Judicial District and adds one to the 6th Judicial District.[2]

“I always want to make sure everyone is heard and feels that justice is done. You can’t always win, but everyone needs to feel like the judge is listening to them.”[3] - Suzanne Carlson[4]
