My roots run deep in Brooklyn Center—I’ve called this community home since 1999. Here, I've raised my family and built a life alongside my husband of 28 years. We chose Brooklyn Center because of its potential and the strong sense of community we felt here.

My leadership as Housing Commission Chair and Finance Commission member demonstrates my ability to make informed decisions. I am dedicated to inclusivity, economic growth, safety, and comprehensive housing solutions. Valuing diverse perspectives, I will collaborate to make informed decisions. I promise to be honest, ethical, and dependable in my actions, ensuring transparency in communication and business practices.

Professionally, I work at NMDP, a global nonprofit leader in cell therapy. I help create websites that are frustration-free and help people accomplish their goals quickly. Collaboration with talented and creative colleagues fuels my passion, as I believe teamwork unlocks the best solutions.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading books to stimulate my mind, reduce stress, and boost creativity, watching documentaries, volunteering for various organizations, and being outdoors.
  • Strengthen public safety: By bringing our police and community closer together, we'll build trust and make Brooklyn Center safer for everyone. I support a fully funded and staffed police department to keep our community safe. I also advocate for a 24-hour duty crew for our fire department to ensure quick responses in emergencies.
  • Grow our local economy: I'll support a vibrant mix of businesses in Brooklyn Center. This approach not only strengthens our economy but also brings our community closer together. By encouraging diverse business development, we'll create more local jobs, enrich our economic landscape, and celebrate the unique strengths of our community.
  • Promote balanced housing solutions: I'm committed to a balanced approach to housing. I'll work on comprehensive solutions that address the diverse needs of our community, from expanding housing options to supporting current homeowners. My goal is to ensure Brooklyn Center offers quality housing choices for residents at every stage of life and income level.
I’m passionate about creating a well-run city that prioritizes the needs of its residents including:

Strong governance: I believe in leaders with integrity who build strong relationships and communicate clearly. This fosters trust and allows everyone to work together for the good of the community.

Community matters most: I'm passionate about making Brooklyn Center a great place to live for everyone. That means being accessible, listening to concerns, and making compassionate decisions that improve our quality of life.

Fiscal responsibility is essential: Understanding the city's finances is crucial. We need to be good stewards of public funds and make informed decisions that ensure a bright future for Brooklyn Center.
Ethical leaders: Honest, follow rules, act in the community's best interest.

Relationship builders: Collaborative, respectful, prioritize healthy relationships.

Effective communicators: Clear, open-minded, work constructively with others.

Emotionally mature: Manage emotions, navigate conflict, welcome dissent.

Courageous: Stand by convictions, advocate for what's right, despite opposition.

Accessible: Available to constituents, listen actively to concerns.

Compassionate: Care deeply about Brooklyn Center’s well-being, make decisions with empathy.

Strategic thinkers: Consider long-term consequences, balance practicality with vision.

Well-prepared: Do their research, contribute meaningfully in all council settings.

Financially astute: Understand city budgets, prioritize financial literacy.
Strong work ethic: I am recognized for working hard and going above and beyond.

Process-oriented: I understand the importance of good processes, not just getting things done quickly.

Team player: I value the people I work with and believe success is built around them.

Honest and transparent: I tackle problems head-on and am honest about challenges.

Fast Adaptability: I thrive in adjusting to new situations and pick up new skills quickly.

Collaborative: I enjoy working with others and creating opportunities for collaboration.

Community Advocate: I understand the importance of advocating for solutions that benefit the public.
Prior government experience is helpful. It means they can hit the ground running, understand budgets, and have connections to get things done. But outsiders bring new ideas. Someone new to politics might offer fresh perspectives and expertise from their own field. The ideal candidate has a mix of both, like consistent attendance at city council meetings and experience on commissions and has fresh ideas.
Local governments serve the people, but trust requires transparency. I'll ensure residents have clear access to budgets and decisions, empowering them to shape our community's future.
