Gwen Bender is a judge for District 7 of the Hamilton County Municipal Court in Ohio.

Bender ran for re-election for the District 7 judge of the Hamilton County Municipal Court in Ohio. She won in the general election on November 4, 2025.

She was appointed by Gov. John Kasich (R) on January 27, 2017, to fill the vacancy created by the election of Judge Melissa Powers to the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas.[1]

Bender earned an undergraduate degree from St. Mary's College and a J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Prior to joining the bench, she worked as the chief assistant prosecutor for the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office.[1]

The judges of the Ohio Municipal Courts are each elected to six-year terms. The elections for this court are nonpartisan contested elections with partisan primaries. To serve on this court, a judge must be a resident of the municipality, licensed in the state, and practice law for six years or serve as a judge of court of record.[3]
