General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 43.5 percent of the vote. He competed against incumbent Judge George P. McCarthy.

Carson received his undergraduate degree from the Ohio Northern University and his J.D. from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 1980.[2]
Career
Carson has worked as an attorney in private practice in Athens, Ohio since 1980. He has also served as an acting judge for the Athens County Municipal Court for twenty-two years.[2]
