Howard E. McClain is a former judge of the Alapaha Circuit of Georgia.[1] He was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue in 2008 to fill a vacancy left by the resignation of Judge Brooks Blitch in 2008. McClain was elected to the court in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. He retired in 2020[2][3]

Education

McClain received his undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his J.D. from the Woodrow Wilson College of Law. He was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1980.[4]

Career

Prior to his appointment to the Alapaha Circuit, McClain was a municipal judge and private practice attorney in southern Georgia.[5][3]
