Incumbents victorious in Houston runoff

Incumbents secured the runoff elections in Texas' largest school district, Houston ISD, on December 12, 2015. In District II, school board president Rhonda Skillern-Jones won the majority vote and defeated pastor Larry Williams. Skillern-Jones has served on the board since 2003. School board vice president Manuel Rodriguez Jr. was victorious over charter school assistant principal Jose Leal in District III. Rodriguez was first elected to the board in 2003. Houston residents also decided on a mayor, city controller and seven city council members.
