Island County, August 6 Primary, ballot measures summary

A Camano Island Library Capital Facility Area Incorporation ballot question and a Camano Island Library Capital Facility Area Bond Issue ballot question were on the August 6 ballot for voters in regions of Island County, which is in Washington. The first question was approved but the second was defeated.
The first question authorized the establishment of a Camano Island Library Capital Facility Area having the same boundaries as the Island County Fire Protection District No. 1, with all the powers provided in chapter 27.15 RCW, including the power to acquire, construct, furnish and equip library capital facilities.[1]
The second question sought to authorize it to issue $2,300,000 in general obligation bonds to acquire, construct, furnish and equip a new library facility on Camano Island and impose property taxes to repay this bond debt in 10 years.[2]
Proposition 2 required a 60% majority voter approval in order to pass.[3]
