James J. Spann, Jr. has served as a judge for the Westfield Town Court and Westfield Village Court in Chautauqua County, New York. He was a 2014 judicial candidate for the Chautauqua County Family Court in New York.[1]

Spann, Jr. ran for election to the Chautauqua County Family Court.
Primary: He was defeated in the Democratic primary on September 9, 2014, receiving 37.5 percent of the vote. He competed against Sally Ann Jaroszynski. He also cross-filed to run on the Conservative, Working Families, Independence and Green party primary ballots. He won the Working Families primary with 76.9% of the vote. He was defeated in the other party primaries. 
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 5.6 percent of the vote. He competed against Jeffrey A. Piazza (Republican, Working Families, Independence), Sally Ann Jaroszynski (Democratic) and Michael J. Sullivan (Green). [1][2] 

Education

Spann received a B.A. from State University of New York at Albany, and a J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.[3]

Career

In addition to his positions on the Westfield Town Court and Westfield Village Court, Spann has a private practice focused on family and matrimonial law.[4]
