James Lamz

James "Jim" Lamz is the judge on the City Court of Slidell in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. He was elected to the court in 2004.[1]
Education
Judge Lamz earned his legal degree from Loyola University Law School.[1]
Career
After serving in the United States Army, Lamz went on to private practice before being elected to the bench.[2]
According to the City Court of Slidell website, Lamz has instituted the following changes on the court:
- increased the limit on civil lawsuits from $20,000 to $50,000
- decreased wait time for victims and police officers to testify
- increased the number of hours the court is in session
- created a system to earn a free GED while participating in the Juvenile Drug Court[1]
