James R. Redd III is a district court judge for the 56th District Court, which presides over Caldwell, Livingston, Lyon, and Trigg counties in Kentucky.[1] Redd was appointed to the court in January 2006 by Governor Ernie Fletcher and was then elected in the November 2006 election for a full term.[2]

Redd was re-elected without opposition in 2010 and 2014, and his four-year term expired on January 6, 2019.[3][4][5][6]

Redd received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University. He earned his J.D. from the University of Kentucky.[7]

Career

Prior to his elevation to the bench, Redd maintained a private practice in Cadiz, Kentucky, which he started in 1997.[2]
