Wegner answered the following questions from Lake Country Now:

During the search for a new superintendent, the school board put forth a series of qualities it was looking for; which of those do you believe is your strongest?

Multiple items are strong suits. I am highly visible in the community. Serving seven years on the Sussex Village Board, I have fostered partnerships within the village to make our community successful. Chairing the Sussex Finance committee for five years has given me an insight to government finances and working to maximize these limited funds. Working in project management for 22 years has solidified my professional integrity with my installation teams and my customers.

What does the Hamilton School District mean to you?

Hamilton has risen to be a pinnacle of success in Wisconsin since I graduated from Hamilton in 1993. The advance in student achievement and professionalism of the staff has come to a point where this excellence must be preserved. Good schools are the first chapter in creating a strong vibrant community. The Hamilton Districts constant focus on achieving student success and excellence is producing individuals that are graduating into successful members of that community.

What issue or issues facing the school district are you most passionate about or interested in that you feel you would be valuable in tackling?

There are quickly approaching technology advances that will soon stretch beyond the normal view of what is considered successful teaching. Advances will range from data collection for developing student specific lesson plans to personalized student devices for learning. I am looking to offer my knowledge in networking and systems as the district continues to bridge into this next generation of teaching while maintaining that these advances in technology will not deter from personal student interactions.
