Jerry Selman

Jerry K. Selman was the Republican Place 1 judge on and presiding judge of the 14 Circuit in Alabama. Selman retired in June 2019.[1]
Biography
Selman earned both his bachelor's degree and J.D. from the University of Alabama. He was admitted to practice law in Alabama in 1974. Prior to becoming a judge, Selman was a private practice attorney with the firm Selman, Beaird, and Selman.[2][3]
Elections
2016
Alabama held general elections for local judicial offices in 2016. A primary election took place on March 1, 2016, with a primary runoff on April 12, 2016. The general election was held on November 8, 2016.
Incumbent Jerry Selman ran unopposed in the general election for the Alabama 14th Judicial Circuit Place 1 seat.[4]

Selman ran for re-election. He defeated Albert Day Legg III in the Democratic primary with 72 percent of the vote. He was re-elected after running unopposed in the general election, earning 100 percent of the vote.[5][6]
