John Colgan was a member of the Illinois Commerce Commission. He served in this position from November 2009 to January 2015.[1]

Colgan was the founding Executive Director of the Illinois Hunger Coalition, an organization he served for over 11 years. He then accepted a position with the Illinois Association of Community Action Agencies in 2000. He also served as Program Director at the Peoria County Community Action Agency from 1981-1989. Colgan is a member of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, serving on the Consumer Affairs Committee and the Subcommittee on Clean Coal and Carbon Sequestration.[1]

Colgan has been a member of the Illinois Commerce Commission since 2009. His term expired on January 19, 2015, but no decision had been made about reappointment or a new commission member by that date.[2]

In January 2010, Colgan was appointed to a full term on the Illinois Commerce Commission, expiring in 2015.[1]

2009

Colgan was first appointed to the Illinois Commerce Commission on November 15, 2009 by Gov. Pat Quinn (D). At that time, Colgan was appointed to fill a vacancy on the commission.[1]
