John Donahue (Michigan)

John M. Donahue was a judge of Michigan's Second Circuit Court. He was elected to this position on November 2, 2004, and was re-elected in 2010 and 2016.[1]
Education
Donahue earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University in 1982 and his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1985.[1][2]
Career
Donahue began his career as a law clerk for the 2nd Circuit Court. In that capacity, he served Judges Burkholz, Hughes, Taylor, Grathwohl, and Hammond. Prior to his judicial career, he worked as an insurance defense litigation and municipal law attorney for the law firm of Straub, Seaman & Allen, P.C. He was then elected to the circuit court bench in 2004.[1]
Elections
2016
Michigan held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election occurred on August 2, 2016. The candidate filing deadline for incumbents was March 21, and the deadline for non-incumbents was April 19.[3] Incumbent John Donahue and incumbent Charles LaSata were unopposed in the 2nd Circuit general election (2 open seats).[4]
