John L. Burns is a county judge of the Charlotte County Court of Florida. He was appointed by Gov. Charlie Crist on May 24, 2010 to replace W. Wayne Woodard. His current term expired on January 8, 2019.[1][2]

Education

Burns received his undergraduate degree (Political Science) from Florida State University and his J.D. degree from the Seattle University School of Law (formerly known as the University of Puget Sound).[1]

Career

Burns worked as an assistant state attorney for the 20th Judicial Circuit from 1995 until his judicial appointment in 2010.[1]

2012 election

Burns was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the Nov. 6, 2012 general election.[3][4]
