John M. McCarty is a district court judge for the 38th District Court, which presides over Butler, Edmonson, Hancock, and Ohio counties in Kentucky.[1] He was re-elected without opposition in 2010 and 2014, and his four-year term expired on January 6, 2019.[2][3][4][5]

Education

McCarty earned a B.S. from the University of Kentucky, going on to receive his J.D. from the University of Louisville. He was admitted to the bar in 1979.[6]
