John Paul Chappell is a district court judge for the 27th District Court, which presides over Knox and Laurel counties in Kentucky.[1] He was appointed by Governor Steve Beshear in January 2008 and was re-elected by voters in 2010 and 2014.[2][3][4][5] His four-year term expired on January 6, 2019.[6]

Chappell earned an undergraduate degree from Eastern Kentucky University, going on to receive his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law.[2]

Career

From 1999 until his judicial appointment in 2008, Chappell worked as a private practice attorney in London, Kentucky.[2]
