Jon Edge
Jon Edge was a candidate for Ward 4 representative on the Las Vegas City Council in Nevada. He was defeated in the primary election on April 4, 2017.
Although city council elections in Las Vegas are officially nonpartisan, Edge was listed by the Clark County Republican Party as a Republican candidate in 2017.[1]
Biography
Edge earned an associate degree in history. At the time of his 2017 run for office, he was a justice studies student in Arizona State University's online program, and he worked in retail management for Natural Grocers.[2]
Elections
2017
The city of Las Vegas, Nevada, held a primary election for city council on April 4, 2017. A general election was scheduled for June 13, 2017. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was February 3, 2017.
The city council seats in Wards 2, 4, and 6 were up for election in the primary, and the Wards 2 and 6 races advanced to the general election. Ward 6 Councilman Steven D. Ross was not eligible to run for re-election due to term limits.[2] Incumbent Stavros S. Anthony defeated Deborah Harris, Sean Lyttle, and Jon Edge in the primary election for the Ward 4 seat on the Las Vegas City Council.[3]

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the following would be Edge's priorities for the city council if elected: "Foster business development, increasing community engagement and participation."[2]
