Jonathan D. Nichols is a judge for the Columbia County Court, Columbia County Family Court and the Columbia County Surrogate's Court in New York. He was elected to this multi-bench position in 2004 and his term expired in 2013.[1] He also serves as an acting justice of the Columbia County Supreme Court.[2] He was re-elected to the Columbia County Court on November 5, 2013 for a term that expires in 2023.

Nichols ran for one of the two vacant seats on the Supreme Court 3rd Judicial District. He received the support of the Republican and Conservative Parties and sought the support of the Independence Party.[4] [5]

Education
Nichols received his B.S. and J.D. degrees from Western New England College in 1979 and 1984, respectively.[1]
Career
Nichols began his career in 1988 as an associate of the law firm of Connor, Curran and Schram, P.C. In 1990, he became a principal of this firm. He worked in that capacity until 2003. He was also a Columbia County Attorney in 2002 and 2003. He was then appointed a Columbia County Court judge (in 2003). In 2004, he was elected to a multi-bench position of the County Court.[1] In 2013, he was re-elected to the county court for a term that expires in 2023.[7]
