Two seats on the Sharyland Independent School District school board were up for general election on May 6, 2017. In Place 1, board incumbent Ricky Longoria filed for re-election and defeated former candidate Kevin Sparks. Place 2 incumbent Julio Cerda also filed for re-election and ran unopposed.[1][2]
