Karen K. Braaten was a judge for the Northeast Central Judicial District Court of North Dakota. Braaten was based in Grand Forks, which is located in Grand Forks County.[1] She was elected to the court in 2000 and was in her third six-year term when she passed away on October 4, 2014.[2][3]

Education

Braaten received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Dakota in 1973 and her J.D. degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1979.[3]

Career

From 1979 until her election to the Northeast Central Judicial District Court in 2000, Braaten worked as an attorney in private practice in Grand Forks, North Dakota.[1][3]

Elections

2012

Braaten was re-elected to the Northeast Central Judicial District Court after running unopposed in the primary election in 2012.[4][5]
