Karl D. Shehu
Karl D. Shehu was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 15 of the Connecticut State Senate.
Biography
Born and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut, Shehu earned academic scholarships to The Loomis Chaffee School and St. Margaret’s-McTernan (now Chase Collegiate School) to attend high school. He earned his B.A. in history and political science from Boston College, his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law and a degree in management from Oxford University.[1]
Professionally, Shehu works as an attorney representing small businesses. He has also authored articles on law firm retention, negotiation theory and the 25th Amendment. He received fellowships from the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and the Gerald Ford Presidential Library to undertake research for a book on presidential inability and succession.[1]

Elections for the Connecticut State Senate consisted of a primary election on August 12, 2014, and a general election on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 10, 2014. Incumbent Joan V. Hartley was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Karl D. Shehu was unopposed in the Republican primary. Hartley defeated Shehu and Blair Bertaccini (Working Families) in the general election.[4][5]
