|- I have been involved with rural Town, Village, City and County Government for over 30 years, and I have seen just how the State has taken funding away from us, changed laws to raid our user fee funding, and caused us to raise local taxes and increase our workload so they could balance their own budget at our expense.
- I have a lot of experience at getting the job done for the people I represent, and I have been in contact with every Town Board, Village Board, City Council, and County Board in the 14th State Senate District. I have a pretty good idea of what they would like to see in their State Senator, and I intend to support them in any way I can.
- Our State government works pretty well for the bigger municipalities, but not so much for the smaller ones. Rural municipalities are responsible for over half of WI's roads; 61,000+ miles, but get less than 10% of road funding. Over 90% of the time our taxes go to help someone else's roads. In 2015 we were on a road replacement schedule of 371 years. Many of our own roads are in a constant state of disrepair.
